# Present payment method on a registered device

`POST /v1/device_registrations/{device_registration_id}/payment_method`

Create a payment method on a registered device using a payment method configuration. The merchant status must be `ACTIVE` to create a payment method.

> 📘 Note
>
> A payment method created on a registered device may only be used for payins within the same merchant for which it was collected.

## Request body

- object
  - `payment_method_config_id` string, required — The unique payment method config identifier. A payment method must be configured prior to this request. See "Create a payment method config" if a payment method configuration has not been created yet. Prefix is "pmc" in production and "sbx_pmc" in sandbox.
