# Claim a Gladia live-API key from the rotation pool

`POST /v1/dictation/gladia-token`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.quillhub.ai`
- URL: `https://api.quillhub.ai/v1/dictation/gladia-token`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

> **Deprecated.**

Returns one key from the GladiaKeys pool, picked round-robin (oldest `last_used_at` first) under FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED so parallel callers receive distinct keys. The key remains valid indefinitely; this endpoint just records that it was handed out so the next caller prefers a different one. DEPRECATED: handing a raw Gladia key to the client is superseded by POST /v1/dictation/live, which keeps the key server-side and returns a relay URL. Kept alive only for desktop builds ≤ 0.5.4.

## Response `200`

Claimed key.

- object
  - `key` string, required: Gladia API key. Use as the `x-gladia-key` header for POST /v2/live and as a query param on the returned WebSocket URL.
  - `key_id` integer, required: Internal id of the claimed key — useful for diagnostics if the client wants to flag a known-bad key.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthenticated.
- `503`: Pool exhausted (every key is marked expired).
