# Create a new named API token

`POST /tokens/{email}/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://quads.example.com/api/v3`
- URL: `https://quads.example.com/api/v3/tokens/{email}/`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Generates a new API token with the given name. The raw token value is returned only in this response and cannot be retrieved again. Store it securely. Use as `Authorization: Bearer qat_...` for API access.

## Response `201`

Token created. The `token` field contains the raw value (shown only once).

  - `token_prefix` string: First 12 characters of the token for identification
  - `created_at` string
  - `last_used` string, nullable
  - `token` string: Raw token value (shown only once)

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request (missing name or duplicate name)
- `403`: Forbidden
- `default`: Unexpected error
