# Verify a PAN

`POST /kyc/verify/pan`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.qorpiq.com`
- URL: `https://api.qorpiq.com/kyc/verify/pan`
- Auth: API key in header `x-api-key`

NSDL-style PAN name + DOB match. Returns only a match verdict - the holder's own details are never disclosed.

## Request body

- PanVerifyRequest
  - `pan` string, required: PAN to verify.
  - `first_name` string
  - `middle_name` string
  - `last_name` string
  - `full_name` string: Alternative to first/last; split automatically.
  - `dob` string, required: Date of birth, DD/MM/YYYY (mandatory - MCA rejects the match without it).

## Response `200`

Success.

- PanVerifyResponse
  - `transaction_id` string, uuid: Unique id for this request, echoed in the X-Transaction-Id header.
  - `check` string
  - `pan_match` boolean: true when PAN + name + DOB all match the PAN database.
  - `reason` string, nullable: Present on a mismatch.
  - `timestamp` integer: Response time (epoch ms).

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid request body or parameters.
- `401`: Missing or invalid x-api-key.
- `402`: Balance too low for this call. Add money to your QorpIQ balance to continue (reason credit_balance_exhausted is kept for compatibility).
- `503`: MCA data source temporarily unavailable.
