# Company or LLP by PAN

`POST /kyc/company/by-pan`

## Request

Resolve a company or LLP/firm PAN (4th character C or F) to the entity it belongs to. A company PAN that our index of filed MCA forms ties to exactly one company answers with its CIN, name and status (source mca_filings). Every other PAN, including LLP and firm PANs, answers from GST registrations under the PAN (legal and trade name, no CIN; source gst). Individual PANs are refused with a 400 at no charge; verify those with POST /kyc/verify/pan. Charged once per call. A 404 for a valid PAN is charged.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid PAN, or an individual PAN (only C or F PANs are resolved).
- `401`: Missing or invalid x-api-key.
- `402`: Balance too low for this call. Add money to your QorpIQ balance to continue (reason credit_balance_exhausted is kept for compatibility).
- `404`: No company, LLP or GST registration was found for that PAN.
- `503`: The GST fallback is temporarily unavailable and our PAN index had no match. Not charged.
