# Rotate your API key

`POST /v1/keys/rotate`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.puntersedge.online`
- URL: `https://api.puntersedge.online/v1/keys/rotate`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Issue a new API key. The old key keeps working for a short grace window so a
multi-process caller can roll over without an outage; pass immediate=true to kill it now.
Cost: 0 credits.

## Query parameters

- `immediate` boolean: Revoke the old key NOW instead of after the grace window. Use this when rotating because the key leaked — a grace window keeps a compromised credential alive and is the wrong default for that case.
