# Switch overage on or off

`POST /v1/billing/overage`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.puntersedge.online`

Cost: 0 credits. Primary key only, commercial tiers only.

Switching it ON lets calls continue past your allowance, up to `ceiling`, and the excess
is invoiced at `rate_per_1000_cents` per 1,000 credits on your next invoice. Switching it
OFF restores the hard 402 at the allowance immediately — including mid-period, in which
case the overage already used is still invoiced, because it was already served.

- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded for this plan. Honour the `Retry-After` header (seconds) before retrying. See https://puntersedge.online/developers/rate-limits
- `500`: Unexpected server error. Safe to retry with backoff.
