# Add a heartbeat

`POST /heartbeats`

## Request body

- HeartbeatCreateInput
  - `name` string, required
  - `monitoring_interval` integer, required
  - `grace_period` integer, required
  - `alert_email` boolean
  - `alert_sms` boolean
  - `alert_voice` boolean
  - `tags` string[]: Tag names to attach to the created heartbeat. Existing tags with the same name (anywhere on your team) are reused instead of duplicated; unknown names are created automatically.
