# Claim username

`POST /api/v1/profiles/me/username`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.proof.holdings`
- URL: `https://api.proof.holdings/api/v1/profiles/me/username`
- Auth: API key in cookie `auth_token`

Claim a username for the user's public profile.

## Request body

- ClaimUsernameRequest: Request body for claiming a username
  - `username` string, required: Username (alphanumeric and underscores only)

## Response `200`

Username claimed

- SuccessResponse: Generic success response
  - `success` boolean, required
  - `message` string

## Other responses

- `400`: Username unavailable
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
