# GLEIF Level 2 ownership (who owns whom)

`GET /lei/{lei}/relationships`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Return the GLEIF Level 2 relationship graph for a 20-character LEI: its direct parent, ultimate parent, and direct children (up to 15), each with LEI, legal name, jurisdiction, status, and city/country. Reveals the accountable corporate-ownership chain behind an entity. Only relationships the entity has reported to GLEIF are returned (many report none). Costs 1 credit.

## Other responses

- `400`: Missing or invalid parameters
- `401`: Missing, invalid, or expired API key
- `403`: Key lacks the required scope or country access
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded — see `Retry-After` header for seconds until reset
- `503`: GLEIF upstream temporarily unavailable or timed out. Retryable.
