# Update Profile

`PUT /users/profile`

Update current user's profile.

Updates the client-writable columns of user_profiles - see
ProfileUpdateRequest for which, and why `email` is not one.

Authentication: JWT required via Authorization header

## Request body

- ProfileUpdateRequest: Fields that users can update directly. Note: onboarded and account_type are server-controlled. `email` is deliberately absent: `guard_user_profiles_server_columns` holds the column to the caller's own `auth.users` address, and this route writes on the caller's own JWT, so declaring the field made it the one writer that forwarded a client-supplied one. See `20260827125137` for the argument. Extra keys are ignored (pydantic's default), so a stale client still sending `email` is dropped rather than 500ing on the guard's raise.
