# Stage Attachment

`POST /attachments/stage`

## Request

Stage an attachment for later association with a chat message.

Uploads file to temporary staged storage. Returns staged_id for use with
chat endpoint's staged_attachment_ids parameter. Staged files are promoted
to documents when the chat message is sent.

REQUIREMENT: Must return 200 within 2 seconds

Authentication: JWT required via Authorization header

Args:
    file: Single file to stage
    child_id: UUID of child this attachment belongs to

Returns:
    JSON with staged_id, filename and file_size for tracking
