# Delete an identified user

`DELETE /users/{userId}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.produktly.com/api/v1`
- URL: `https://api.produktly.com/api/v1/users/{userId}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Hard-deletes the identified user. Analytics events are kept (they reference the external ID as a plain string).

## Path parameters

- `userId` string, required: The user's external ID — the same value you pass to window.Produktly.identifyUser(). URL-encode it.

## Response `204`

Deleted. No response body.

## Other responses

- `400`: Validation error
- `401`: Unauthorized
- `404`: User not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
