# The cumulative public dictionary journal batches decode against, ascending by id

`GET /ledger/definitions`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://kellian.app/api/v1`
- URL: `https://kellian.app/api/v1/ledger/definitions`
- Auth: none required

## Query parameters

- `cursor` string: Continue after this id: the `nextCursor` from a previous page. Entries are returned ascending by id.
- `limit` integer
- `beforeNonce` string: Only entries first declared by a batch with a nonce strictly below this one — the dictionary a reader needs as `previous` to decode that batch.

Success

- LedgerDefinitionListResponse
  - `chainId` integer, required: Compiled protocol release chain ID (Base 8453).
  - `definitions` LedgerDefinitionRecord[], required
    - `id` string, required: Dictionary id. One venue-wide ascending counter across every definition type, as a decimal string.
    - `type` 'wallet' | 'asset' | 'market' | 'accounting', required
    - `encoded` string, required: The definition exactly as it appears in its declaring payload: tag (1 byte) | id (4) | body length (2) | body. Decode with the public decoder; re-verify by finding the same id in the definition section of the `JournalBatchCommitted` payload of `firstBatchTxHash`.
    - `firstBatchNonce` string, required: The batch whose payload first declared this definition.
    - `firstBatchTxHash` string, nullable, required: That batch's Base transaction. Null only while the declaring batch is still `claimed`.
  - `nextCursor` string, nullable, required

## Other responses

- `400`: Error: one of INVALID_QUERY
- `500`: Error: one of INTERNAL_ERROR
- `default`: Error response (RFC 9457 Problem Details for HTTP APIs)
