# Read a public address note

`GET /public/address-notes/{address}/{name}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.primitive.dev/v1`
- URL: `https://api.primitive.dev/v1/public/address-notes/{address}/{name}`
- Auth: none required

Returns only explicitly public notes whose publisher currently owns an active verified domain for this address. Private, deleted and no-longer-controlled notes are hidden. Responses are not cached.

## Path parameters

- `address` string, email, required: Bare email address, normalized to lowercase. Plus tags are preserved.
- `name` string, required: Case-sensitive note name. AGENT_INFO, AGENT_USES and AGENT_RUNTIME (where the agent runs, e.g. its runtime, machine and working directory) are conventions, with no required value schema.

- `409`: address_note_conflict: if_absent or if_version did not match.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. The `ratelimit-*` headers describe the limiter that rejected this request, with its own limit and window, not the API budget that successful responses report. A limiter that reports only a wait sends `Retry-After` alone.
