# Send a chat message

`POST /teams/{slug}/chat/sessions/{session_id}/messages`

## Request

Runs one assistant turn for the chat session and streams the reply as an AI SDK UI message stream.

## Other responses

- `400`: Malformed request body
- `403`: Insufficient permissions for the chat session
- `404`: Chat session not found
- `409`: TURN_IN_PROGRESS includes Retry-After seconds; MESSAGE_SUPERSEDED does not require a retry delay
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `503`: The assistant is not available
