# Preview the refund of an order item cancellation

`GET /admin/order-items/{order_item_id}/refund-quote`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.presscart.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.presscart.com/admin/order-items/{order_item_id}/refund-quote`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

What cancelling the item would refund and how it would split between card and team credits, with the last four digits of the card. Writes nothing.

## Path parameters

- `order_item_id` string, uuid, required

## Query parameters

- `refund_method` 'CARD' | 'CREDITS': Where the refund would go; credits when left out.

## Response `200`

The refund the cancellation would make

- OrderItemRefundQuote
  - `amount` number, required: What the cancellation refunds, in dollars
  - `card` number, required: The part that would go back to card, in dollars
  - `credits` number, required: The part that would go to team credits, in dollars
  - `card_last4` string, nullable, required: The last four digits of the card, when part of the refund goes back to one

## Other responses

- `400`: The query is invalid, the item is already cancelled or refunded, or it is a niche unit
- `404`: The order item was not found
- `422`: A completed wire transfer or Bill.com swap on the item is not marked paid yet, so it cannot be cancelled
