# Delete a draft, or cancel a scheduled post

`DELETE /posts/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://preflight.social/v1`
- URL: `https://preflight.social/v1/posts/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Removes Preflight's record. What has already gone out stays on the networks; take it down per target first with DELETE /posts/{id}/targets/{targetId}/remote. Scope posts:write.

## Response `204`

Deleted.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, expired or unrecognised key.
- `404`: No such post, file or account in this workspace.
- `409`: Not possible in the current state, or the network does not allow it.
