# Create a new quality rule

`POST /v1/quality/rules`

## Request

Creates a new quality rule with the provided details.

## Request body

- RuleRequestCreateView: Represents the request view for a rule.
  - `captureFailedRecords` boolean
  - `customProperties` RuleCustomProperty[]: Custom metadata properties to attach to this rule.
    - `name` string: The property name.
    - `value` unknown
  - `description` string
  - `dimensionName` string
  - `enableAutoRun` boolean
  - `failedCondition` ConditionView: Represents conditon view to create or update a rule.
    - `config` string
    - `type` string
  - `filterCondition` ConditionView: Represents conditon view to create or update a rule.
    - `config` string
    - `type` string
  - `mappings` object[]
  - `name` string
  - `passCondition` ConditionView: Represents conditon view to create or update a rule.
    - `config` string

  - `reconciliationStrategy` string: Reconciliation execution strategy for reconciliation rules (e.g. RUN_WITH_EXECUTION, COMPARE_RUN).

  - `scoreBands` BandInfo[]: Score bands configured for the rule.

    - `minimumValue` number, double
  - `scoreClass` 'Quality' | 'Governance': Score class the rule belongs to. Defaults to Quality when omitted.
  - `scoreTarget` string: Identifier of the asset the rule is scored against.
