# Get journals associated with a connection in the specified project

`GET /v1/integration/continuous/projects/{projectId}/connections/{connectionId}/journals`

## Request

Retrieves the list of available **journals** for a specific **data connection** inside a project.

A **Journal** is the source-side log/journal identifier used by CDC:
- On IBM i, a journal determines which objects can be captured and from where changes are read.
- Journals are used when configuring LogReaders (a log reader points to a journal).

**Behavior & semantics**
- Returns **200** with an array.
- If no journals are available / returned by the source metadata service, returns **200** with an empty array (`[]`).
- If the project does not exist or is not accessible, returns **404**.

**Typical usage**
- UI/agent step to populate a journal dropdown before creating a LogReader
- Validation step to ensure a user-selected journal exists

**Required Permissions:** `replication-pipeline::view`

## Response `200`

Successfully retrieved journals (empty list if none are available)

  - `name` string: Journal name

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request - Validation error (missing/invalid projectId or connectionId)
- `401`: Unauthorized - Authentication required, valid credentials not provided
- `403`: Forbidden - User lacks 'replication-pipeline::view' permission
- `404`: Not Found - Project does not exist
- `500`: Internal Server Error - Failed to retrieve journals
