# Edit an unpublished story

`PATCH /v1/stories/{storyId}`

## Request

Change caption, media, and destinations on an unpublished story. Refuses active, partially published, or already posted stories. Changing a scheduled story changes its future public content. Use scheduleStory or cancelSchedule for timing; edits do not publish.
