# Delete a message template

`DELETE /api/profiles/{profile_id}/templates/{id}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Deletes one language variant, or every variant when addressed by name with no language. Meta reserves the name for 30 days.

- `language` string

What was deleted.

- WhatsAppTemplateDeleteResponse
  - `deleted` boolean
  - `scope` 'language' | 'all_languages': Deleting by name with no language removes every language variant.
  - `name` string
  - `language` string

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid, missing, or insufficient API key permissions.
- `404`: Resource does not exist or is not accessible.
- `422`: Validation failed.
