# Get thread owner (Facebook & Instagram)

`GET /api/chats/{id}/thread_owner`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.postproxy.dev`
- URL: `https://api.postproxy.dev/api/chats/{id}/thread_owner`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Asks Meta which app controls the conversation right now and refreshes the chat's metadata.thread_control. Both fields are null when the conversation is idle.

- `profile_group_id` string

## Response `200`

Current owner.

- object
  - `app_id` string, nullable: Meta app ID that controls the conversation; null when idle.
  - `expires_at` string, date-time, nullable: When that app's control lapses; null when idle.

## Other responses

- `401`: Invalid, missing, or insufficient API key permissions.
- `403`: Meta refused the change (Postproxy isn't the owner, or takeover isn't allowed in the Page's settings). Meta's message is passed through.
- `404`: Resource does not exist or is not accessible.
- `422`: Validation failed.
