# Hide typing indicator (Facebook & Instagram)

`POST /api/chats/{id}/stop_typing`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Hides the typing indicator early. Optional — Meta clears it on its own after about 20 seconds or as soon as a message is sent. Facebook Messenger and Instagram Direct only; other networks return 422. Asynchronous: responds with accepted true and delivers the action to Meta in the background.

Typing action accepted for asynchronous delivery.

- `401`: Invalid, missing, or insufficient API key permissions.
