# List messages in a mailbox

`GET /api/v1/messages`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://postfleet.ai`
- URL: `https://postfleet.ai/api/v1/messages`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Lists the most recent messages (inbound and outbound) for a mailbox, newest first. Requires an `api` or `mcp` key with `can_read`.

## Query parameters

- `mailbox_id` string, required
- `limit` integer

## Other responses

- `400`: `mailbox_id` query param required.
- `401`: Missing or invalid bearer token, or a key whose scope is not permitted for this endpoint.
- `403`: Key cannot read messages, or is scoped to a different mailbox (`code:key_scope`).
