# Delete a policy

`DELETE /api/v1/policies/{policyId}`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Permanently delete a policy and its hosted page. Pass delete_consent_records=true to also delete the consent records linked to this policy.

## Query parameters

- `delete_consent_records` boolean

## Response `200`

Policy deleted

  - `deleted_consent_records` integer: Only present when delete_consent_records=true

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `404`: Resource not found
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
