# Verify Military

`POST /api/user/verify-military`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.pointifytravels.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

Mark the caller as military or kick off the external verify flow.

* ``self-attest`` — immediately sets ``is_military = true``. We do
  this even without third-party proof because some travel providers
  (airlines, hotels) accept self-certification at checkout; any
  discount that actually requires documentation is enforced at
  booking time, not here.
* ``govx`` / ``id.me`` — flips ``pending_verification = true`` and
  returns the redirect URL for the client to open. A subsequent
  webhook (handled elsewhere) flips ``is_military = true`` once
  verification succeeds.
