# Edit text websites

`POST /api/v1/alpha/websites/edit-text`

Change one piece of text in a website Alpha built, with no model turn: the version (its id), the element's source location as Alpha Chat's preview element picker reports it (path, line, column), the text the element shows, and its new text. The text must be one JSX text or string literal inside that element in the version's source; the edited source is built and accepted exactly as Alpha's own revisions are, which can take a few minutes, and saved as the website's next version, which is returned. Refused while new Alpha work is closed, while acting as another member, while another edit of the version builds, and while a turn of its conversation runs.
