# update_contact

`POST /update_contact`

Update mutable fields on an existing contact. Stripe-style partial: omit fields to leave unchanged, pass null to clear nullable fields. Pass `note` to append a freeform note to the contact (appended unless an identical note already exists); a note-only call is valid.

- `400`: Invalid input — Zod validation failed.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, or audience-mismatched bearer token.

- `409`: IDEMPOTENCY_KEY_REUSED — same Idempotency-Key was used previously with a different request body.
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the period in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Internal error.
