# search_contacts

`POST /search_contacts`

Search contacts in the active workspace by show, group, free-text query (first/last name, email, or company), country, or city. Country uses UK/US alias expansion without substring accidents (Ukraine ≠ UK). country_not excludes that country but never treats blank country as a match — read missing_country_total and say so. Use this (then search_episodes primary_contacts) for guest-geography questions; do not start with search_transcripts. Returns paginated results.

- `400`: Invalid input — Zod validation failed.
- `401`: Missing, malformed, or audience-mismatched bearer token.
- `403`: Token is valid but lacks the required scope.

- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the period in `Retry-After`.
- `500`: Internal error.
