# Delete a transcription

`DELETE /api/v1/transcriptions/{id}`

## Request

Removes the row and its stored transcript file. Permanent, and it does not refund credits. A malformed id answers 404, the same as an id belonging to another account.

  - `deleted` boolean
  - `storage_removed` boolean: False when the row is gone but its stored object outlived it, surfaced so storage costs can be reconciled
  - `message` string

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `403`: The account's plan does not allow this: either it includes no API access, or the requested scope needs write access. `error.code` is "plan_required". No plan is in that state today, so in practice you will see 402 insufficient_credits instead, which means the plan is fine and the balance is empty.
- `404`: No such resource on this account
