# Retrieve information about a Plaid application

`POST /application/get`

Allows financial institutions to retrieve information about Plaid clients for the purpose of building control-tower experiences

## Request body

- ApplicationGetRequest — ApplicationGetRequest defines the schema for `/application/get`
  - `client_id` string, required — Your Plaid API `client_id`. The `client_id` is required and may be provided either in the `PLAID-CLIENT-ID` header or as part of a request body.
  - `secret` string, required — Your Plaid API `secret`. The `secret` is required and may be provided either in the `PLAID-SECRET` header or as part of a request body.
  - `application_id` string, required — This field will map to the application ID that is returned from /item/application/list, or provided to the institution in an oauth redirect.

- ApplicationGetResponse — ApplicationGetResponse defines the response schema for `/application/get`
  - `request_id` string, required — A unique identifier for the request, which can be used for troubleshooting. This identifier, like all Plaid identifiers, is case sensitive.
  - `application` Application, required — Metadata about the application
    - `application_id` string, required — This field will map to the application ID that is returned from /item/application/list, or provided to the institution in an oauth redirect.
    - `name` string, required — The name of the application
    - `display_name` string, nullable, required — A human-readable name of the application for display purposes
    - `join_date` string, date, required — The date this application was granted production access at Plaid in [ISO 8601](https://wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601) (YYYY-MM-DD) format in UTC.
    - `logo_url` string, nullable, required — A URL that links to the application logo image.
    - `application_url` string, nullable, required — The URL for the application's website
    - `reason_for_access` string, nullable, required — A string provided by the connected app stating why they use their respective enabled products.
    - `use_case` string, nullable, required — A string representing client’s broad use case as assessed by Plaid.
    - `company_legal_name` string, nullable, required — A string representing the name of client’s legal entity.
    - `city` string, nullable, required — A string representing the city of the client’s headquarters.
    - `region` string, nullable, required — A string representing the region of the client’s headquarters.
    - `postal_code` string, nullable, required — A string representing the postal code of the client’s headquarters.
    - `country_code` string, nullable, required — A string representing the country code of the client’s headquarters.
