# Create holiday (deprecated)

`POST /holidays-core/v1/holiday`

**DEPRECATED**. Call the [Add holiday](ref:post-add-holiday-to-calendar) endpoint instead.

Create a holiday—a day on which your company's offices are closed for normal business activity though online financial transactions and other business activity could still be occurring.

## Request body

- PresenterCreateHolidayRequest: Data to create a holiday.
  - `name` string, required: Holiday name
  - `holiday_date` string, required: Holiday date. Format = yyyy-mm-dd.
  - `working_date` string, date, required: Next work day following the holiday. Format = yyyy-mm-dd.
  - `administrative_division_id` integer: Administrative division ID. When passed as a parameter, either this or `external_id` is **REQUIRED**.
  - `external_id` string: Existing ID value from another process or application. When passed as a parameter, either this or `administrative_division_id` is **REQUIRED**.

  - `id` integer: Holiday ID
  - `name` string: Holiday name
  - `holiday_date` string: Holiday date. Format = yyyy-mm-dd.
  - `working_date` string, date: Next work day following the holiday. Format = yyyy-mm-dd.
  - `administrative_division_id` integer: Administrative division ID. When passed as a parameter, either this or `external_id` is **REQUIRED**.

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Access token missing or invalid
- `404`: Not found
- `500`: Internal server error
