# Update accounting account

`PATCH /v1/accounting-accounts/{accountingAccountId}`

Update description of an accounting account.

## Path parameters

- `accountingAccountId` integer, required

## Request body

- AccountingAccountPatch
  - `description` string, required: Description that helps to identify the accounting account

## Response `200`

OK

- AccountingAccount[]
  - `id` integer: Accounting account ID
  - `description` string: Description of the accounting account
  - `account` string: Accounting account number
  - `program_id` integer: Program ID
  - `created_at` string, date-time: Date and time when the accounting account was created (ISO 8601).
  - `deactivated_at` string, date-time: Date and time when the accounting account was deactivated (ISO 8601). Filled when the account is deactivated.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request when a provided parameter is invalid.
- `404`: Accounting account not found.
