# Cancel authorization

`POST /direct-network-transactions/v1/cancellation`

## Request

Perform a full cancellation of an authorization. The authorization must have the status `PENDING` or `PROCESSED` and must also not have been previously confirmed (cleared).
This endpoint generates a [Network authorization received](https://developers.pismo.io/events/docs/networktransactions-network-authorization-1) event.

## Request body

- CancellationRequest: Transaction payload
  - `network_authorization_id` integer, required: Authorization ID—this field is mandatory if the `authorization_code` field is not provided.
  - `authorization_code` string, required: Authorization code—this field is mandatory if the `network_authorization_id` field is not provided.
  - `transaction_identifier` string: Transaction ID
  - `retrieval_reference_number` string: Number generated by merchant point of sale (POS) system.
  - `card_id` integer, required: Transaction card ID
  - `origin` string: This field identifies the origin of the operation to be cancelled as MIGRATION, ONUS, or STRIKER.

## Response `200`

Full cancellation accepted

- CancellationResponse
  - `message` string, required: Success message

## Other responses

- `400`: The request is acceptable but the syntax is malformed, for example, some type number parameter with a text content.
- `403`: Access forbidden.
- `404`: Specified resource was not found
- `409`: The specified resource status conflict with the current request
- `500`: Internal server error
