# Update channel

`PATCH /corporate/v1/channels/{channel}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sandbox.pismolabs.io`
- URL: `https://sandbox.pismolabs.io/corporate/v1/channels/{channel}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Updates the description of an existing channel.<br>

You can update `description`, but the channel code remains fixed.

This endpoint generates the following events:

## Path parameters

- `channel` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateChannelRequest: Request body to update channel description
  - `description` string, required: Text describing the channel

## Response `200`

OK. Returns the updated channel.

- UpdateChannelResponse: Response body for an updated channel
  - `channel` string, required: Alphanumeric channel code
  - `created_at` string, date-time, required: Timestamp indicating when the channel was created, expressed in RFC3339 format with millisecond precision.
  - `description` string: Text describing the channel
  - `updated_at` string, date-time, nullable: Timestamp indicating the last update to the channel in RFC3339 format, displayed in milliseconds.
  - `deleted_at` string, date-time, nullable: Timestamp that indicates when the channel was soft-deleted. Null if the channel is active.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `401`: Access token is missing or invalid
- `403`: The request has been lost
- `404`: Not Found. Channel does not exist.
- `500`: Internal Server Error
