# Add a project association

`POST /projects/{project_id}/project_associations`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.pipelinecrm.com/api/v3`
- URL: `https://api.pipelinecrm.com/api/v3/projects/{project_id}/project_associations`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer and API key in header `app-key`
  - API key in query parameter `api_key` and API key in query parameter `app_key`

Associates a deal, company, or person with the project. Idempotent — adding an existing association returns it without error.

- `project_id` integer, required

## Request body

  - `associable_type` 'Deal' | 'Company' | 'Person', required: The type of entity to associate
  - `associable_id` integer, required: The ID of the entity to associate

## Response `201`

Association created

- ProjectAssociationAll
  - `id` integer: The project association ID
  - `project_id` integer: The project ID
  - `associable_type` 'Deal' | 'Company' | 'Person': The type of associated entity
  - `associable_id` integer: The ID of the associated entity
  - `created_at` string: When the association was created

## Other responses

- `403`: External users cannot modify projects
- `404`: Project or entity not found
- `422`: Invalid associable_type
