# Create a consumer borrower

`POST /borrowers/consumer`

## Request

Create a consumer borrower. The created consumer resource is returned
in the response.

## Request body

- ConsumerBorrowerRequest
  - `address` Address, required
    - `line_1` string, required: A string of 1-256 characters
    - `line_2` string, nullable: A string of 1-256 characters
    - `city` string, required: A string of 1-30 characters
    - `state` string, required: 2-digit US state code (e.g. CA, IL, FL)
    - `zip` string, required: 5-digit US zip code
  - `date_of_birth` string, required: The borrower's date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD)
  - `email` string, required: The borrower's valid email address
  - `first_name` string, required: The borrower's first name (min. 2 characters)
  - `last_name` string, required: The borrower's last name (min. 2 characters)
  - `kyc_completion_date` string, nullable: Date kyc completed on the borrower, only required if Pier is not performing KYC (YYYY-MM-DD)
  - `kyc_status` 'approved' | 'declined' | 'pending'
  - `government_identifiers` GovernmentIdentifiers
    - `ssn` string, nullable: The borrower's 9-digit social security number (e.g. 345543221)
    - `ssn_last_4` string, nullable: The last 4 digits of the borrower's social security number
    - `itin` string, nullable: The borrower's 9-digit individual taxpayer identification number (e.g. 345543221)
    - `passport` Passport
      - `country` string, required: ISO 3166-1 Alpha-3 code representing the country of issue (e.g. USA)
      - `number` string, required: The passport number
      - `expiration_date` string, nullable: The expiration date of the passport (YYYY-MM-DD)
      - `issue_date` string, required: The issue date of the passport (YYYY-MM-DD)
    - `drivers_license` DriversLicense
      - `country` string, required: ISO 3166-1 Alpha-3 code representing the country of issue (e.g. USA)
      - `province` string, required: Adapted ISO 3166-2 code with Alpha-3 country code prefix (e.g. USA-CA)
      - `number` string, required: The passport number
      - `expiration_date` string, nullable: The expiration date of the passport (YYYY-MM-DD)
      - `issue_date` string, required: The issue date of the passport (YYYY-MM-DD)
