# Get Video Thumbnail

`POST /metadata/thumbnail/extract`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://video-api.picsart.io/v1`
- URL: `https://video-api.picsart.io/v1/metadata/thumbnail/extract`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Picsart-API-Key`

Extracts (reads) Video Thumbnail.

## Request body

- object
  - `video_url` string, uri: Source video URL.
  - `source` 'auto' | 'container' | 'timestamp'
  - `image_format` 'JPG' | 'PNG' | 'WEBP', nullable: Optionally select one of the thumbnail image formats (JPG is chosen if left blank). Options are as follows: * JPG * PNG * WEBP
  - `timestamps` string[], nullable: List up to 4 timestamps to extract frames from. <a href="https://docs.picsart.io/docs/video-timestamps/">Several timestamp formats</a> are supported.

Success.
