# Send Message for extension

`POST /v4/accounts/{voip_id}/extensions/{extension_id}/messages`

## Request

This service is used to send a message for extension.

This API endpoint is designated for Person to Person (P2P) communications. Improper use for marketing type purposes or Application to Person (A2P) will cause upstream cellular companies to block the “From” number for SMS use.  If you plan to use this endpoint for A2P or A2A applications that might also entail high volume, i.e., above the FREE limits set by the Phone.com plan, please contact our API support team at apisupport@phone.com to discuss other options.

- `voip_id` integer, required
- `extension_id` integer, required

## Request body

- Message
  - `from` string, required: Sender’s phone number must be Phone.com’s
  - `to` string[], required: List of phone numbers to send the message to
  - `text` string: The message text
  - `media` object[]: Array of objects for mms items
    - `data` string, required: Base64 encoded media file
    - `filename` string: Name of the file
  - `tag` string: Client-side tracking identifier
