# Reset your iPhone

`POST /me/devices/{id}/reset`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.phone-harness.com`
- URL: `https://api.phone-harness.com/me/devices/{id}/reset`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Erase one of your iPhones and set it up again: its apps, accounts and data are deleted, and it stays assigned to your account. Takes a few minutes; meanwhile its state in GET /me → available is resetting and a start on it answers 409 device_resetting. It ends available, or reset_failed if the reset did not finish: reset it again (the same call). Refused while a session holds the phone.

## Path parameters

- `id` string, required

## Response `202`

The reset started.

- object
  - `id` string
  - `state` 'resetting'

## Other responses

- `401`: Bad or missing bearer credential.
- `404`: Your account holds no iPhone with that id.
- `409`: A session holds the phone (code device_running, session names it; stop it first), a reset is already running (device_resetting), its last session is still closing (device_busy), or it is not available right now (device_unavailable).
