# Get brand display metadata

`GET /api/v1/brands/{slug}.json`

Returns display metadata for a curated brand (targeted-company slug) plus a live count of its active phishing detections. Powers the `get_brand_metadata` MCP tool.

  - `category` string: Vertical label (back-compat name for `vertical`).
  - `sector` string, nullable: STIX 2.1 industry-sector-ov value, or null.

## Other responses

- `404`: Unknown brand slug.
- `429`: Rate limited (more than 20 requests in 10 seconds from one IP). Retry after 10 seconds.
