# Set a preset label

`PUT /presets/{id}/labels/{label}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.phaseo.app/v1`
- URL: `https://api.phaseo.app/v1/presets/{id}/labels/{label}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Points a label at a published version, creating the label or moving it. Requests that pin the label, such as @support-triage@production, use the new version within about 2 minutes. Moving a label back to an earlier version is a rollback.

## Request body

- PresetLabelSetRequest: Send exactly one of version_id and version.
  - `version_id` string, uuid: The published version to point the label at.
  - `version` string: A version label such as v3, 1.2.0 or 2026.10.27, or another label such as staging to copy where it points.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid label, or neither or both of version_id and version
- `403`: Only the preset's creator or a workspace owner or admin can change its labels
- `404`: Preset or version not found
