# Create a fiscal year

`POST /api/external/firm/v1/companies/{company_id}/fiscal_years`

## Request

Create a fiscal year. Fiscal years must be consecutive and cannot overlap.

> This endpoint requires the following scope: `fiscal_years:all`

## Path parameters

- `company_id` integer, required

## Request body

- object
  - `start` string, date, required: The date at which the fiscal year starts (ISO 8601). Fiscal years must be consecutive and cannot overlap.
  - `finish` string, date, required: The date at which the fiscal year ends (ISO 8601)

## Response `201`

Returns the created fiscal year

  - `start` string, date, required: The date at which the fiscal year starts.
  - `finish` string, date, required: The date at which the fiscal year ends.
  - `status` 'open' | 'reopen' | 'closed' | 'frozen', required: The status of the fiscal year.

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Access token is missing or invalid
- `403`: Access to this resource forbidden
- `404`: The resource was not found
- `422`: Unprocessable content
