# Cancel a Gocardless mandate

`POST /api/external/v2/gocardless_mandates/{gocardless_mandate_id}/cancellations`

Cancels a specific Gocardless mandate by ID. The mandate must be in a cancellable state, having one of the following statuses: `pending_submission`, `submitted` or `active`.

> This endpoint requires the following scope: `customer_mandates:all`

- `gocardless_mandate_id` integer, required

## Headers

- `X-Company-Id` string

## Response `204`

Mandate cancelled successfully. No content returned.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Access token is missing or invalid
- `403`: Access to this resource forbidden
- `404`: The resource was not found
- `422`: Unprocessable content
