# Create Facts

`POST /facts/create`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.peec.ai/customer/v1`
- URL: `https://api.peec.ai/customer/v1/facts/create`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - API key in query parameter `api_key`
  - HTTP bearer

Add manual facts to a project. Each fact is a statement about the brand that Peec uses to check claims found in future AI answers. New facts are active. The batch is all or nothing: if the active facts would exceed the plan's `fact_limit` (see List Facts), nothing is created and the request fails with 402.

## Request body

  - `project_id` string: Required if using a company api key
  - `facts` object[], required
    - `text` string, required: The statement Peec should check AI claims against.

## Response `200`

Every created fact with its new id

    - `text` string, required: The statement Peec checks AI claims against.
    - `origin` 'website' | 'manual', required: How the fact was added: `manual` by a person, `website` extracted from the project's website.
    - `is_active` boolean, required: Whether Peec uses the fact in future fact-checking. An inactive fact stays listed.
    - `edited_at` string, date-time, nullable, required: When the wording was last changed, or null if never edited.
    - `created_at` string, date-time, required

## Other responses

- `402`: The project's plan does not cover this many active facts. Nothing was created.
