# Cancel

`POST /v3/transactions/{traceId}/cancel`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

This API endpoint allows you to cancel a pending transaction prior to the card being submitted for processing. Once the card has begun processing, the transaction can no longer be cancelled via this API.

## Path parameters

- `traceId` string, uuid, required

## Headers

- `Authorization` string, required
- `X-Idempotency-Key` string, uuid, required

## Request body

- CancelTransactionRequest
  - `tenantId` string, required: 12-digit merchant identifier (MID).
  - `terminalId` string, required: 10-digit terminal serial number.

## Response `200`

Transaction cancellation successful.

- SuccessResponse
  - `traceId` string, uuid: Correlation identifier matching the initial API response traceId
  - `response` object
    - `status` 'SUCCESS': Whether the original request was successful.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid Request or Transaction cannot be cancelled.
