# Update the workspace proactive-reply limits

`PATCH /v1/proactive-limits`

## Request

Set the per-channel daily reply cap and/or the quiet period between unprompted replies, or reset both to Patricia's recommended settings. Changes take effect on the workspace's next proactive evaluation. Only the fields provided are changed.

## Request body

- ProactiveLimitsUpdate: PATCH body: every field optional; only what's provided is written. ``max_replies_per_channel_per_day`` must be within the allowed range and ``channel_cooldown_minutes`` one of the allowed minute choices (both strict types, so a JSON ``true``/``false`` can't coerce to a number). ``programs_enabled`` is the workspace switch for the proactive programs. ``reset_to_recommended`` clears both limit overrides, leaves the switch as it is, and cannot be combined with an explicit value.
  - `max_replies_per_channel_per_day` integer, nullable: The daily limit on unprompted replies in each channel.
  - `channel_cooldown_minutes` integer, nullable: The quiet period in minutes between unprompted replies in a channel.
  - `reset_to_recommended` boolean
  - `programs_enabled` boolean, nullable: Turn Patricia's proactive check-ins on or off for the whole workspace.
