# Confirm a member merge mailbox

`POST /v1/auth/mailbox-proof/redeem`

Consumes the single-use token mailed to a member's stored address and returns the proof id that a member-merge request can cite.

## Request body

- object: Redeem the opaque token mailed to a member-merge target.
  - `token` string, required: The opaque token from the emailed link.

## Response `200`

The consumed mailbox proof id.

- MailboxProofRedemptionResponse: The consumed proof id that a later member-merge request can cite.
  - `status` 'accepted'
  - `mailbox_proof_id` string, uuid, required

## Other responses

- `400`: The link is not valid — expired, already used, or unrecognized (``INVALID_AUTH_ACTION``)
- `429`: Too many requests from this client (``RATE_LIMITED``)
