# PTAB challenges against one patent

`GET /v1/patents/{patent_number}/ptab`

## Request

Answers: is this patent under (or has it survived) an inter partes review, post-grant review, CBM or derivation proceeding at the PTAB, and what did the Board decide. Each proceeding has `type`, `petitioner`, `patent_owner`, `filed_date`, `status`, `instituted` (true|false|null), `claims_outcome` (all_unpatentable|some_unpatentable|none_unpatentable|null, from the final written decision), `final_decision_date`, and `decisions` — every Board decision document with `kind` (institution_granted, institution_denied, final_written_decision, termination, rehearing, appeal_mandate, other), `date`, `outcome`, `statutes`, `issue_types`, `title`, `pdf_url`. Pass include_text=true for each decision's text as USPTO's dataset carries it (a preview of a few hundred characters). Empty `proceedings` for a known patent means no challenge on record.

## Path parameters

- `patent_number` string, required: US patent number without commas; design/plant/reissue prefixes allowed (D912345, PP12345, RE48123).

## Query parameters

- `include_text` boolean: Include the full text of each decision.
